fold faq I have had trouble bonding together different types of plastics. Can UGlu help me with these projects?

UGlu is a thick film of adhesive that instantly bonds together any two surfaces.  These surfaces can be smooth, rough or uneven.  As with any bond, make sure the surface is free of oils and contaminants.  Many "new" plastics have a mold release (oil to help it remove from the machine it is made in) which covers the surface and makes it difficult to bond to.  Wipe the surface good with rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover or products such as Goo Gone.  Unlike many glues and tapes, UGlu is good for most any types of plastics, including the slick ones. Some of theses include Polycarbonate, Foamed PVC (Sintra), High Density PVC , Acrylic/Plexiglass,  ABS,  Low Density Polypropelene, Nylon, Polyester,Canvas & Leather,(Not recommended for Suede).

fold faq I want to mount a toothbrush holder to a mirror. Does UGlu adhere to glass surfaces?

Yes, UGlu will adhere to glass and tile surfaces.  For best results, make sure to clean the surface using rubbing alcohol.  Avoid household cleaners, which surprisingly may leave a chemical residue that could cause the bond to fail over time.  Also, avoid applications where direct sunlight would go through the glass as direct sunlight on the adhesive may affect the bond over time.

fold faq I used UGlu to bond two pieces of wood and it worked for many months. Recently the bond failed for no apparent reason. Why?

As is the case with any adhesive product, surface preparation is key to a long lasting and permanent bond.  We recommend that wood surfaces be primed or sealed to prevent any natural oils from migrating to the surface of the bond, causing a possible failure to occur.

fold faq I tried to remove UGlu from a wall and it pulled a small piece of the paint off. Am I doing something wrong?

UGlu can be removed off of most any stable surface, including painted drywall.  The trick is to grab a small edge of the adhesive and pull very slowly, stretching the adhesive in a horizontal fashion.  If you pull straight off or quickly you will likely pull part of the surface up with the adhesive.  To remove an object from the bonded area, use a twisting motion.  This helps release the bond and reduces the risk of damaging the surface.  Remember:  if the surface is not stable, the weakest point is where it will fail.

fold faq I used UGlu on a project that required me to cut small strips and I had some trouble. Any tips to make it easier?

Using sharp and clean scissors, UGlu strips and rolls can be cut to size.  Applying a small amount of vegetable or baby oil to your scissors prior to cutting reduced the adhesive sticking to your scissors.  Applying a small amount of vegetable or baby oil to your scissors prior to cutting reduced the adhesive sticking to your scissors.  UGlu can also be put in the refridgerator or freezer prior to cutting.  Just make sure to let it warm up before applying.  If any residue remains on the surface of your scissors, it can be cleaned off using rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, or products such as Goo Gone.

fold faq I found that cutting through a UGlu strip was easier than cutting through the roll version.

UGlu strips contain paper release liners on each side of the adhesive, where as the roll is self wound and only has a single liner, leaving exposed adhesive on one side.  Using a small piece of the white paper liner applied over the exposed adhesive reduces the direct contact with the adhesive and scissors, making it easier and cleaner to cut.  Cutting in a fast, upward direction to avoid the adhesive from contacting the scissor blades directly also helps.

fold faq A friend told me about UGlu, where is it sold?

UGlu has recently been introduced into retail stores and distribution continues to grow.  It is now available through many fine Craft, Hardware, Drug and Grocery stores - coming soon to the internet.  Please visit "Where To Buy" to find the nearest location to you.

fold faq There are so many liquid glues and tapes to choose from today. How is UGlu different?

This patented, innovative new form of adhesive for home, school, office and craft use combines the ease of a tape with the strength of liquid adhesives.  UGlu bonds two surfaces instantly with no wait, mess or fumes.  The thicker profile even allows for a strong bond on rough/uneven surfaces.  While UGlu is a liquid adhesive, this new form eliminates dripping and messy ooze.  Just stick where needed and apply pressure.  Uglu is also instant.  There is no dry-time, curing or waiting for a bond to happen yet can be cleanly removed.  This industrial strength product is Non Toxic (Conforms to ASTM D4236), Acid Free and can easily be cut to size.  UGlu is made in the USA.
